For The Homeschool Moms,
Were you unable to attend a homeschool conference this year? (or ever!?!) While we all wish we could go every year (or just once in our lifetime!), the reality is that for many of us, lack of time, or money, (or both!) usually prevents us. Add to that the logistics of finding someone to take care of our children (if the conference doesn't encourage them to come), or animals back home, means that the idea of being refreshed and re-energized for another year of homeschooling is just a hazy dream for most of us...
UNTIL NOW!!!!! Hold on to your socks, and read on!!!!!!
The First Annual Heart of the Matter Online Virtual Homeschool Conference is going to be held next week: July 31 - August 3 ! Sponsored by The Heart Of The Matter online magazine and blog
( http://heartofthematteronline.com/ ), it promises to be an opportunity for homeschool moms like us, who live far from civilization (where they usually hold those nice conferences), to have a chance to "hear" great speakers, and ask questions via instant messaging, and even visit the (virtual) "vendor hall"----------and all from the comfort of our own home! (Just think of all the gas money we'll be saving! : )
And get this: The conference fee is only $29.95!----for 4 full days! And get this: When you register, you're going to get over $80 worth of FREE homeschool products! And get this: If you can't listen to all of the speakers because you have to make lunch or change a diaper or bandage a knee or one of the other myriad demands of a homeschooling mother's day (even if she's on summer vacation...), then you can download audios and save them to your computer to listen to at your convenience!
You can check out the conference site for more information on speakers and topics and schedule. All of the details are on the FAQS page.
A little disclaimer: I am not familiar with all of the speakers, (so you'll have to make up your own mind (which I hope you would anyways!) about whether these folks can teach you anything. But this whole idea of an online homeschoolers conference is so exciting to me, as a homeschooling Mom, that I just had to share it with you! What a blessing this could be for any of you Moms who are discouraged, or struggling, or weary of well-doing, or just needing some focus and fresh inspiration for this upcoming school year!
In fact, Gerhard and I are so excited about this, that we have decided to be a sponsor of the event, and we are going to have a "virtual booth" in the "vendor hall" for our home-run business, My Sewing Treasures! So if you decide to sign up for the conference, please tell them that "My Sewing Treasures" referred you. Thanks!
If you have any questions, email me. We hope to "see" you there! And we hope you will be blessed by this event!
May God bless your homeschool,
Heidi Hein
P.S. If you decide not to "attend" the HOTM Online Homeschool Conference, you can still visit their online magazine site (http://www.heartofthemattermagazine.com/) anytime for FREE, and read all of the inspiring and informational articles each month. You can also read the HOTM blog at http://heartofthematteronline.com/ for more homeschooling encouragement, and weekly giveaways, and other good stuff.
